Lido Ficò: comfort among the Mediterranean scrub

The story behind Lido Ficò began with a ten-year friendship, born from a passion for music and for a wonderful land.

We are in Marina di Marittima, in the province of Lecce: a unique location, where nature has created green terraces around which the Mediterranean scrub grows strong and wild.

To create one of the greenest beaches in Salento, in the countryside, this vegetation has been restored and enhanced, according to meticulous landscape design work.

The name of the beach resort itself is a symbol of the strong bond with the land: fig trees (fico in Italian) are present all over the area, welcoming every visitor. At Lido Ficò the wild nature of the Adriatic cliffs and the Mediterranean scrub coexists with the glamour and comfort of the beach resort.

Lido Ficò: a friendship by the sea

The two owners, Pasquale and Luigi, are young entrepreneurs from Ruffano and old friends. They founded their first business together in 2009 and have been working together ever since. When in 2021 they had the opportunity to open a beach resort in Salento, they did not miss it and decided to start a new adventure: Lido Ficò.

The love for their land and an abundance of fig trees did the rest. Pasquale and Luigi literally put the accent on Fico. It is so important that the town of Marittima di Diso organises a festival to celebrate this fruit every year on 16 August.

The Lido Ficò beach: nature and comfort

Lido Ficò is located in an exceptional location in Salento: it is one of the few beaches in Puglia immersed in an invaluable natural landscape: a dream location with all the necessary comforts.

The natural lawn, on a wide terrace, goes right down to the sea, which is easily accessible: contact with nature creates a pleasant and regenerating environment. All this is combined with the exclusive services of the Italian beach resort.

For those looking for more peace and quiet, the relax area offers both extra-comfort loungers and a privé with four-poster beds, a mini jacuzzi and a massage area.

Among the many services offered there is also the possibility to book early your favourite spot on the beach through the Cocobuk platform.

What to see in Salento

Diso and Cala dell’Acquaviva

Marina di Marittima is a hamlet in the municipality of Diso, a small town in southern Italy, whose name literally means ‘desire to live here’. How can you not take a trip there? At different times of the year, this seaside town near Lecce is decorated with the typical Salento lights: a spectacular sight that all tourists want to capture.

Lido Ficò is also in an absolutely privileged position: from the beach club starts a nature trail of about 300 metres, which leads in a few minutes to the most beautiful bay in Salento: Cala dell’Acquaviva. This small inlet is surrounded by thick vegetation and is famous for its karstic springs and emerald green waters.

Close to Lido Ficò: Castro, Porto Miggiano Bay and Otranto

Moving on from Lido Ficò to Lecce, one encounters towns such as Castro, which is famous not only for its harbour but also for its history. What to see in Castro? This town, founded as a defensive hamlet by the sea, still has its 13th-century castle and its cathedral, which dates back to the 12th century. The water in Castro harbour is so limpid and the seabed so clear that you can see the phenomenon of flying boats. Here, the small, colourful wooden boats seem to float in the air.

The 100-steps beach at Porto Miggiano, in Santa Cesarea Terme, is another unmissable stop, one of the most beautiful beaches in Salento: it is a bay with a blue sea, which offers a unique view. Porto Miggiano Bay is the perfect place for snorkeling lovers. If you are more interested in fun, you can rent a boat and sail around its coves.

Otranto is another must see destination in Puglia, where visitors can explore the Bauxite Quarry, or the close-by Grotta Verde in Andrano. Every corner of Salento, even the countryside, is worth a visit, and Lido Ficò is at the centre of every touristic itinerary.
