The Molise sea: one of the cleanest in Italy

The Molise sea is one of the cleanest in Italy. Not everyone knows this, but the Molise coastline contains a real treasure that is perhaps still too undervalued.

The quality of Molise’s bathing water is excellent, according to a recent Arpa Molise monitoring report. Let’s go into detail and then find out where to go to the sea in Molise.

Monitoring the Molise Sea

Arpa Molise always monitors the conditions of the Molise sea, assessing the quality of the water. In order to do so, four coastal municipalities of Molise were taken into consideration: Campomarino, Montenero di Bisaccia, Termoli and Petacciato.

After taking samples at some sampling points, the result was more than satisfactory. In general, the ratings were satisfactory, ranging from excellent (83% of samples), good (13%) and sufficient (4%).

Compared to 2020, the poor rating has disappeared showing that the quality of Molise’s waters has improved even more. Anyone looking for a clean sea and quiet beaches will find everything they want on the Molise coast.

Where to go to the sea in Molise?

Since the Molise sea is among the cleanest in Italy, you will be spoilt for choice. But which are the most beautiful beaches in Molise? We have selected them for you.

There are two beaches in Termoli: Sant’Antonio Beach and Rio Vivo Beach.

The beach of Rio Vivo is certainly one of the best known of all Molise. From here hydrofoils depart for the Tremiti Islands. We are in the south of Termoli and the sandy coastline of this area is perfect for those who love beach sports but also relaxation. It is an excellent destination for families, as there are long stretches of sand and a clean and beautiful sea. A small curiosity: Rio Vivo is home to a very famous sailing club and it is here that some of the most famous regattas are organised.

Sant’Antonio Beach, on the other hand, is located in the northern part of Termoli and is famous for its long cycle paths that allow cycling enthusiasts to combine their passion with an amazing sea. 10 km of Molise coastline much loved by tourists who, in addition to the beauty of the landscape and nature, also appreciate the nightlife.

We would also like to point out the beach at Marina di Montenero di Bisaccia, where you can also visit the charming village in the area. We are in the province of Campobasso and this is the hamlet of Montenero di Bisaccia. It is a little gem just a few kilometres from the Abruzzo border. A long beach of golden sand alternating with rocks that embrace the sea. A true wonder for the eyes of nature lovers. The area is also very well equipped and is perfect for all types of tourists.

These are just some of the most beautiful beaches in Molise. The clean sea, the breathtaking panorama and the tranquillity are at home: booking and believing.
