Are you ready to discover the most searched Italian beaches on the search engine? Fasten your seatbelts, we’re off.

The data we are referring to are those of the summer of 2021 and certainly offer many useful hints for those who are planning their 2022 summer holidays in Italy, a favourite destination also for many foreigners who cannot wait to populate our beaches and swim in our crystal clear sea.

The list of the most searched Italian beaches on Google

Google is the first search engine in the world, the most important and the most used. It is for this reason that when we need to obtain data, we look at what emerges from Big G.

A marketing agency, Im Evolution, conducted the search analysis and provided us with all the relevant data.

The most searched Italian beach on Google in 2021 is Sicilian and is the beautiful Spiaggia dei Conigli, one of the symbols of Lampedusa. During the month of August there were 18.100 searches.

The second most searched beach on Google is the Spiaggia delle Due Sorelle. The Conero Riviera was one of the protagonists of last summer and we are sure that this year will be a reconfirmed result. In this case there were 14.800 searches on Google.

To find the third most searched Italian beach on Google we have to go to Sardinia and, specifically, to Costa Smeralda with the beach of Portu Li Coggi.

Three real paradises that make us realise that it is not necessary to go to the other side of the world to live a unique experience.

Of course, the ranking does not stop at the first three positions but goes on. Here are the other Italian beaches most searched for on Google. There are some well-known ones and others to discover. These lists, after all, also serve this purpose because they allow you to get to know new potential destinations for the summer holidays of families, couples, groups of friends or solo travellers who want to go and enjoy all the beauty that the Italian sea can offer.

The fourth place is occupied, with 9,900 monthly searches, by another Sardinian beach, La Pelosa in Stintino. Then come the beach of Polignano a Mare (Bari) with 8.100 searches and the beach of San Teodoro, in Sardinia, with 8.100 searches.

In seventh position we arrive in Tuscany with the beach of Sansone in Portoferraio. In Sicily, the eighth most searched for beach on Google is San Vito Lo Capo. At the bottom of the ranking we find the beach of Alghero in ninth position and the Island of Elba in Tuscany in tenth.

The regions most loved by Italians and foreigners

This list also allows us to understand which are the most loved Italian regions among those bathed by the sea. We have, without a doubt, Sardinia in first place. This is where most of the beaches are searched for on Google and, therefore, by Italians and foreigners in search of beauty.

Sicily also does well, with two beaches on the list. Two beautiful and iconic beaches that are appreciated by both Sicilians and many other tourists. Marche, Puglia and Tuscany are also on the list. These regions are also very much appreciated and are, after all, very popular with those who are planning their holidays. We remember, for example, that Puglia has been defined the most beautiful region in the world and there are many foreign tourists that every year come in Polignano a Mare and in other areas of this region.

Tuscany is on the list with the Island of Elba, which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful spots in Italy. A true landscape and natural paradise that has nothing to envy to Caribbean beaches and atolls.

In short, our beautiful Italy has so much to offer and Italians and foreigners who decide to spend their summer holidays here every year are well aware of this. It’s a dream to live a summer like real Italians. This list gives you a lot to take in and keep in mind.

The numbers of the italian summer

As you can see, the beaches on the list are all beautiful and it is certainly not strange that they have been identified as the most sought after.

Italian beaches are a real driving force for Italian tourism in the post-Covid-19 pandemic. Although we are not back to the numbers of summer 2019, the last ‘at full capacity’ before the pandemic, 2021 has seen a new increase in tourism in Italy.

Here are a few numbers that may give an idea of how important the summer months and beach holidays are to our country’s tourism economy.

The summer quarter from July to September 2021 brought 177 million tourists to Italy. A much larger number than that recorded in 2020. The increase was 31% and gives a very good sign for what could also be the coming summer.

But who travelled and for what reason? 18 million Italians travelled for holiday while 1.5 million travelled for work.

This is interesting data and something to be aware of, because it shows that many foreigners have also arrived in our country, even if less than those who arrived in the now distant 2019. Hoping that all this is a good omen, we await the data for next summer to make a comparison.
