Torre Lapillo spiagge salento

Torre Lapillo: beaches and surroundings

Torre Lapillo is one of the symbols of Salento. We are on the Ionian side of the Apulian coast, in a small seaside town that over the years has managed to win the hearts of many Italian and foreign tourists.

For those who want to discover Salento, Torre Lapillo could be an excellent starting point, because it is not far from Lecce but also from other well-known seaside cities such as Gallipoli.

Let’s discover together this wonderful area, which smells of Mediterranean scrub, sun and sand.

Where to go to sea in Torre Lapillo? The most beautiful beaches

The first thing to say is that Torre Lapillo is a part of Porto Cesareo. The two towns are so close that it is possible to walk from one to the other.

The beach of Torre Lapillo is quite wide and extends from Porto Cesareo to Punta Prosciutto. This stretch of coastline is characterised by large expanses of sand, so anyone wondering where to go to the sea in this area will have to look no further than a corner or one of the many equipped beaches, because beauty is at home here.

One of the things that immediately catch the eye and the attention of those who come here are the crystal-clear waters that are gently embraced by these vast expanses of fine, golden sand that in some places are interspersed with a few stretches of low cliffs. The sand dunes are another feature of Torre Lapillo’s beaches. Here you can find the typical scents and shrubs of the Mediterranean maquis, which create a landscape that in some places is still uncontaminated and certainly authentic.

Torre Lapillo, as well as the nearby beaches of Porto Cesareo, are perfect for families. The shallow waters and vast expanses of sand are what attract the attention of those in search of peace and tranquillity, as well as families with children in tow.

Some tips

Not everyone knows that the seafloor of Torre Lapillo is perfect for snorkelling and, being shallow, is also ideal for children. There are coral reefs here that have nothing to envy from more exotic beaches. If you add to all this the crystal-clear sea, the white beach and a few stretches of low cliffs, the picture is perfect.

What to do in and around Torre Lapillo

The town is very close to the beaches of Torre Lapillo, which makes the area perfect for everyone. Not only that. For those who want to experience Salento’s nightlife, remember that we are not far from the lively and famous Gallipoli, but also in the area there are some lidos and bathing establishments that organise aperitifs, evenings and much more. Finally, nearby Porto Cesareo is a destination to consider if you love good Salento cuisine: here there are some small fish restaurants that are absolutely worth trying.

Remember that during the month of August Torre Lapillo can be quite chaotic, but for those looking for a bit of tranquillity June, July and September are perfect.
