14 Giu Riviera del Corallo, most beautiful beaches in the Sardinian paradise
Would you like to discover a true Sardinian paradise like the Riviera del Corallo with us? We are in one of the most beautiful areas of this extraordinary island and here are some unique beaches.
Let’s discover together what this still little-known stretch of Sardinian coastline has in store for us compared to other, more emblazoned areas of Sardinia.
Where Riviera del Corallo is located
Riviera del Corallo is located in the north-west of Sardinia. Specifically, this area includes the 90 km of the Alghero coastline. A decidedly heterogeneous and very beautiful stretch of coastline. Between white sandy beaches and more rocky areas such as the Capo Caccia promontory. Every type of tourist can find exactly what they are looking for enclosed in these long kilometres of coastline.
The most beautiful beaches of Riviera del Corallo
But let’s cut to the chase. Do you know why it is called Riviera del Corallo? Red coral can be found in its crystal-clear waters. A peculiarity that makes this sea even more popular.
Discovering the most beautiful beaches of the Riviera del Corallo will help you realise that this is the right place for your next holiday. After all, who said that Sardinia is only Costa Smeralda?
The Spiaggia delle Bombarde will not make you regret the beaches in the coolest parts of the island. The beach, completely of fine sand, has a peculiar half-moon shape and is about 1 km long. What makes it unique is the backdrop of volcanic rocks rich in Mediterranean scrub. A spectacle for those who love this type of landscape.
If you are looking for other spectacular places, also mark Mugoni Beach on your agenda, a beautiful paradise of fine sand and crystal-clear water. This area is always well sheltered from wind and currents and the vegetation also makes it perfect for those who want to shelter from the sun.
Dominated by the Capo Caccia promontory, Cala Dragunara is another beach worth visiting. The fine sand here is washed by a sea of various shades of blue: a spectacle for the eyes.
For those who want rocks, we instead recommend Monte Tundu, a pebbly beach protected from the wind by a rocky barrier that stands proud. Here the sea is clean and crystal clear and this beach is very quiet and not always very busy.
At the northern end of the Coral Riviera is Porto Ferro Beach, a beach of amber-coloured, reddish sand about 2 km long. It too has a very distinctive appearance.
Discovering Alghero
Once in the area, it is impossible not to visit Alghero. The city has so much to offer and that is why we recommend it. This beautiful city of medieval origin has so much to offer, especially in the winding streets of the historic centre.
Among the things to visit in Alghero are the Cathedral of Santa Maria with its bell tower, the Piazza Civica, the Church of San Michele Arcangelo and the Coral Museum. Alghero also has beautiful beaches to discover and appreciate.
This is a less touristy but no less breathtaking Sardinia.
